The society assumes an important role in tree planting and
renovation of Heliopolis and neighboring districts. Of the most important
achievements, was its pioneer initiative in declaring a cleaning campaign. The
society divided Heliopolis into sections. Members of the society were assigned
to supervise cleaning and environmental protection efforts in those sections.
In addition to the "Million Tree" project of which Mrs. Suzan Mubarak - the
society's chairperson- opened the first stage. The project includes tree and
greenery planting in many roads in order to overcome desertification especially
in the eastern part of Cairo. Various types of trees and plants were used.
However, the tree planting process is not only restricted on merely farming but
it is extended to include enhancement of roads and selecting the types of trees
to be planted. Other entities were inspired to contribute to this major
achievement such as the executive bodies of Cairo Governorate, Ministries of
Agriculture, Environment, Housing and Construction, and Transportation in
addition to the Organization of Cairo International Airport and the Egyptian
Japanese Association which provided the Japanese Cherry Trees that enjoy a
special historical value.

Mubarak Child Museum Committee : |
 |
|
|
The society established Suzan
Mubarak Museum for children at the Jungle Park, which has been
unused for a long time. In this museum the child is allowed to touch the
displays and not just watch them, which stimulates their senses. The child is
also able to physically work in many activities and handicrafts that reflect
Egyptian history and geography. In addition to an up to date computer center.
All this and other special features, including handing a passport to the child
at the museum entrance to tour around the sections representing all parts of
Egypt, makes the museum an absolutely different one.
